THE POSITION
Data Center Server Engineer will work with company business units and information technology staff to
identify and assess system monitoring and management requirements; devise possible solutions and provide product specific training to Enterprise Management Center (EMC) staff. This position is responsible for designing and maintaining
monitoring and management applications
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
Design, implement and support monitoring-related systems and supporting hardware in a redundant, multi-tiered environment.
Design and implement monitoring and management tools.
Develop reports and dashboards to provide performance and reliability data to IT staff and management.
Serve as MOM/SMS systems technical resource and trainer for EMC engineers.
Serve as an escalation point for software or hardware problems within the EMC environment.
Analyze and schedule patches and firmware maintenance
Forecast and proactively recommend strategic hardware/software upgrades or replacements.
Provide tactical and strategic input on overall systems planning and related projects as related to monitoring and management of devices.
Provides training and technical supervision for EMC engineers on assigned projects.
Required to oversee and participate in IT projects, which includes implementing solutions, analysis and gathering of business requirements, and reporting the status of projects to their successful completion.
Coordinate with other departments and business users to ensure monitoring and management system functional specifications meet business requirements.
Provides support for data base reports utilizing System Center Data Warehouse.
Implements and supports new monitoring and management technologies.
Complete additional tasks as assigned.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
